Another One of My Crazy Ideas

It just occurred to me that I share a birthday with Lucille Ball.  Maybe that is the reason I get these harebrained ideas.  That tend to look like something Lucy & Ethel would wear...

Anyway, I just found this cool new site called Craftsy, which is similar to Ravelry but with sewing and other crafts.  And I fell in love with this "Retro Bombshell Dress", which is an on-line course for making this darling dress.  With boning, muslin fitting, and all kinds of seamstress-y stuff.

But it looks like fun.  And I have NO dresses.  And I can just picture myself in something like this (especially after I've lost a few pounds around the midsection).  So I am signed up for the course.

Stay tuned for further adventures in couture craziness.

good luck L-Ann, hope it does not end up like my one and only 8th grade coulotte project where all the seams joined at the crotch and I walked with a huge wad of material between my legs (the one and only time my thighs did not rub together)

oh lord. Those jr. high home ec sewing projects were always HIDDY. I have hopes this is going to be all kinds of awesome. Though I'm probably delusional.

I'll take two. Can't wait to see you in your bombshell dress riding your retro bike, all while holding a martini. I'm moving to Spokie!

LOVE - looks some some of the dresses Toddie used to have . . .

Exactly, Susna! I'm also planning to sew me some aprons a la Toddie. BC I can't eat w/o spilling on myself and of course who doesn't love an apron.
