It was one year ago today that the apocalyptic event now known as "Bwoken Awm" (that is "Broken Arm" for those who don't hang out with 5 year olds) occurred. On June 1st, 2010, I took the painful fall that resulted in a summer of sleeping in a recliner.
The arm is pretty much recovered, though I could do a LOT better on the exercising. I bought a summer pass to the local swimming pool (an easy bike ride away), and plan to spend a lot of time working that arm in the water. My weekly lawn mowing with world's worst mower is also helping to strengthen the arm.
I plan to stay far away from anything that might cause me to trip and fall today. And I WON'T be watching "127 Hours" today. Katie and I watched it last weekend, and let me tell you, I cringed big time when J. Franco broke his radius and his ulna. OUCH.

yeah, that arm-breaking scene was fairly horrifying, even though we knew it was coming...
and i'm SO glad you are better - NO crazy tripping stunts this year!
trying very hard to remain upright. But you girls and your computer cords snaking across the living room make it challenging :-)
fellow broken armer...though I have yet to learn to stay off the roof.
Zaids, you must stay off roofs. Your grandbabies need you to have both arms and your neck in solid condition. On second thought, maybe there will be an opening for me...
Ouch! And even just thinking of that movie makes me queasy
yes, that scene was horrifying even though you knew it was coming.
Oh isn't the WORST sound they play when he is cutting his nerve. Makes me queasy. Glad the arm is healed. Do your exercises you boob.
