Hug Your Dad Today

Today is our dad's birthday, he would have been 85 today (right, Susna?) I miss him every day, and I often think about how much he and I would have enjoyed discussing history, books we've read, hiking together and hanging out with the rest of the family.
I couldn't find my photo albums, so Susan sent over a scanned pic of Dad, which I had to rescan (and that didn't do the picture any favors). I'll try to get a better one so you all can see what a handsome guy he was.
Love your dad, appreciate him, give him a hug and a kiss, and know how lucky you are to have him with you!

Good call on John being a Walter-look-alike Katie! Mom, I thought about grandpa W. a lot when I was in DC. Every time I go to WWII Memorial, I can't help but think of his time in the Pacific.

funny as I am reading this through the blur of tears I am looking at a 2 pics of dad on my photo wall. One is of a baby, naked on a blanket and the other might be a high school grad pic. The baby one looks alot like a little Sean. In the older one I see Susans teeth/smile (the teeth being before the bridge), all of our cheeks/jaw lines. Many of our noses, mine included (Jon got Babas) Joes eyes. WE are def a combination of our parents. He is never far from my thoughts either, I have always missed not having known my dad as me being an adult. I am so grateful for all the time we shared doing things we loved. He is someone I love to think about, thanks L.

we are def. a mix of our parents. Wouldn't it have been grand to have Dad here for all of the big and small events in our lives?
