Worst Candy Ever?

Katie and I were discussing candy the other day (I seem to have this conversation often.  What can I say, I love candy).

I contend the absolute WORST candy in the universe is Horehound Drops. Even the name is hiddy.  They taste like the world's worst cough drops.

I must have tried them as a child, I'm sure the same pile of drops were in a bin at Meredith's Dime Store for the entire 85 years the store was in business (right next to the super stale Circus Peanuts).  I'm still scarred by the taste experience.

That said, my second choice for worst ever is Jujubes.  Or Jujyfruits.  Gak.  Sticky and terrible.

i think any candy that can legitimately be compared with "Fisherman's Friend" is automatically put in the Top 3 Worst candies of all time.

Betty Herseth always had a dish of horehounds in her living room, I think they were there for the 20 plus years I spent at their house!! They still are a big seller at O's though. I would put Sen Sen in the mix, who likes those things??? Not sure I agree on the Juicyfruits though. AND the circus peanuts (you had better start scouting those now for my funeral food!!)

You and Cara with the horrid circus peanuts. I'm sure there will be a stale mound of them at your funeral Zaids. And agree Sen-Sen is weird. PS what weirdsmobiles buy horehound drops at Osties? PSS note how I snuck in a word from "White Christmas" :)

hmmmm I am assuming the word is wierdsmobiles (which I know love, but might have to change to wierdsmobilinis) but don't remember where it was mentioned (sure it was Danny Kaye). I will have to dust of WC and rewatch.

Bing Crosby ABOUT Danny Kaye. and yes 'weirdsmobile' is the magic word.
