I Wonder...

My Knitting Pattern A Day Calendar featured the "Prostate Cancer Awareness Scarf" yesterday.  Do you think the pattern is supposed to be little prostates?  Just wondering...

Too Cool for School!

Tiny little Tatum is actually a Kindergartner now!  I cannot believe that our little doll is in school.  Here are some pix I swiped from her website (because her mama claims she is 'too busy to blog', I can't imagine why):

The family posing for a happy picture.  Somehow Josh stifled his sobs long enough to smile..

Waiting to enter the prison yard.  Geez, I hope they have grass somewhere on the compound for Tate to play on.  She looks okay with it all though (first in line!)

Evidently, Tate encountered some hooligans on the first day, because she seems to have had all of her teeth knocked out.

Grammy you'd better post some deets here so we know how it all went!  And if she went back for Day 2!

SHHHHH

Rumor has it that one of the boys WON the big prize ribbon in the Youth Canning division at the fair! We are going to check it out tonight. I so hope it's true, that would be a big thrill for the lucky boy. Will get photos and be back with the results tomorrow.

Hello Pot, This Is Kettle

Katie had the nerve to complain that my blog needed updating...so I am posting a little something something. I'm so happy to report that our traveler is going to settle down in the 'Kane, at least for a while!

Maybe SHE will update her blog with all the deets.

School Days

The school year has begun! Our Linwood Lions are off and running with new teachers and new outfits:

Alex and Liam (Al had a cow about 'button pants' but grudgingly agreed to try them on, then loved them; Liam refused to wear his new shorts but did wear the shirt) looking fine!

RJ flexing his 3rd grade muscles.

Mikey in his new outfit, plus back pack, working his 'look like a pirate' theme.

The boys have had a great first week. Alex reports that he was quiet all day in class "I even breathed quietly, I don't think my teacher heard me". Ms. Clairmont is in for a big surprise when you unzip your lips, Allie! Al also is sitting at a desk with THREE GIRLS, eek. Liam is enjoying his new teacher, Mrs Graham. She is the mom of five, so there's probably nothing Liam can do that will shock her. RJ is loving life as a 3rd grader, way cooler than grade 2. And Mikey is patiently waiting for preschool to start, so he can take his backpack and Wall-e lunchbox to school!

The Last Day...

Hard to believe, but this is the last day of summer vacation. The boys start back to school tomorrow (RJ is in 3rd grade, the twins are 2nd graders, and Mikey will be in preschool). They have their new backpacks and lunch boxes, new outfits and shoes for the first day, and high hopes for a great year.
This summer has flown by, how does that happen? One minute it's a lazy summer afternoon at the park, and next thing you know, it's September.
Hope you all had a grand summer, we certainly did!

Happy Birthday Jon Helen!

I'm a couple of days late, but wanted to wish our baby brother a happy birthday! "Sliver" has always been the life of the party, the perfect baby bro...funny, good natured, and a darn good sport (he hardly complained at being called Sliver, Slivovitz, Splinter, Jon Helen, or any of the other nicknames he has endured over the years).
And I am happy to report, he seldom makes this face anymore, nor does his hair look like this.
Happy BD!
