TQI Last Week(s)
After 2 weeks of hovering around the same weight I finally lost a pound and a smidge. Damn, it's hard to lose weight when you are an old. Every ounce is a struggle! But I was able to wear a dress for Easter that I had purchased a couple of years ago and never fit into, so that's a positive sign. And I finally have a bit of a waistline!

Happy Easter!
I went to church with Jon, Lorraine and the boys, then had a lovely dinner with their gang. Missed colie's first egg hunt due to church but Katie sent me a video. She caught on to the whole plastic eggs contain candy thing right away.
Uncle Easter Bunny was around in the 1920s, evidently.
And here's Moochie with her day after Easter hangover:

BLT Chopped Salad
Because my readers demanded it (my two sisters, thanks for being loyal readers, gals!) here's the link for the delicious BLT Chopped Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette
I don't think we put slivered almonds on it, but those would be a nice crunchy addition. This salad is SO good (especially if you are dying for something a bit savory) In fact, it's on our dinner menu again this week!

TQI last week
I had a little gain, must have celebrated my previous 4 lbs loss a little too much. Everyone else lost, and we had some good new recipes, including a delish BLT salad.

TQI Last Week
I forgot to update :-) I met my 30 lb. goal! Everyone lost last week so hooray!
I'm almost to the halfway point of my weight loss adventure. Geez how did I get SO. FAT. Well, actually I know exactly how it happened. I'm really really happy we started on this program -- it feels so good to be eating healthily and actually be able to do some physical activity. I am hoping that my knee will continue to improve as the weight goes down. Fingers crossed, because it's still hard to kneel or walk downstairs.

Visiting
We took a wee road trip this morning and visited Katie and Cara at work places. There was plenty of "hi" said to everyone, but miss Colie did not wish to say anything else to her admirers.

Hooray!
We love swimming! The binks stayed firmly plugged in, but there was no crying and we even kicked and splashed. Must be the new swimsuit. Video to follow.

Brave Little Toaster Update
You may recall my disastrous attempt to take CBC (Cry Baby CAF) swimming last week. Did not go well. In fact, we spent 10x as long finding a parking spot as we spent in the pool.
The girls were determined that this tiny gal was GOING SWIMMING AND GOING TO LIKE IT. So Sunday we packed her grip and headed back to the Y. Luckily, the therapy pool was open (it's super warm, think bathtub) so we all got in with our little weinie.
And she hated it. Clutched for dear life to Katie and Cara. Would not relax. Did not believe it was "just like the tubby". Was not impressed by Katie's "orca whale breaching" imitation. We managed to get her to tremble out a "hi" (her only word) to the lifeguard or a passing swimmer from time to time. And the girls kept her in that water.
Until at last, bit by bit, she began to relax. Just a smidge. Only clutching with one hand. Releasing the wrestling leg hold around the waist of her auntie. Waving to Uncle Tony up in the workout room. Watching all the activity going on at the play structure. Smiling -- but a bit nervously. Finally, tipping her head back and "washing her hair".
So little missy survived and even liked the pool -- perhaps it's a good thing she can't talk yet, because she might disagree with my assessment. But we're going back. Real soon.
Spring!
I found this brave little (and I do mean little, it's tiny!) iris (I think it's an iris) poking out of the flower bed today:
