Rosaia Bros.
Susan is looking for images of the Rose from the Ros. Bros. Sign. I couldn't find anything in the albums I have but did find this photo from the Seattle P-I from WWII. You can just see the sign in the background

TQI Week 7
I think we just finished week 7 :-)
We all lost weight last week, yay! Tony made me some paleo bagels, which I loved! Toasted breakfast, yay again! We concocted a very tasty plate of nachos, which was also pretty darn healthy. The chips are Beanitos, and they actually pretty good. A lot less cheddar than we would have used in the bad old days, fresh tomatoes, onion, black beans, avocado, ground turkey with homemade taco seasoning, voila! Delish.
The knee is still weak, but I'm working on strengthening it and losing weight should help too. It feels great to be eating better, and I'm surprised that I haven't missed the sugar, alcohol, fats and etc.

Cara's Pillow
Here's the pillow I sewed together for Cara, using leftover squares from her afghan project and a Scandinavian sweater for the back, which I had decided I wasn't going to finish so I cut it up:
Handyman
Tony is so handy to have around! He cooks, cleans, does yard work and is a good carpenter. And here he is at Paradise Fibers, winding yarn:
Boy, are we going to be sad when some lucky gal steals him away from us.

I'm Hot!
Two of my knitting patterns are in Ravelry's top 20 patterns! Of course, it's because I'm having a free pattern weekend, but still...I'm pretty excited.

Wow
The sweater Ralph Lauren designed for the US Olympics team. That is a total explosion of patriotism. Ralph, maybe delete about half the motifs and you have a good looking sweater.

TQI Week 6
I finally got the scale to nudge down a pound. Things continue to go well, and we are trying out lots of new recipes, mostly successfully. The crock pot pork was rather too orangey, but the paleo baking is improving by leaps and bounds.
I'm walking on the treadmill at least three times a week, plus upper body stuff and feel like improvement is happening. Tony has lost a ton of weight of course (damn guy metabolism) and looks fantastic. It's so helpful to have the entire house on the eating plan!

Mrs. Hughes, You're the Best
She kicked ass on that rotten lady's maid last night. While Mrs. H. Is utterly incapable of keeping a secret, she's definitely the gal you want to confide in. LUV HUH.

Another Little Resolution
I'm a lazy housekeeper. I admit it. But I've decided to make one little change at a time (dusting is way down on the list). I am going to make my bed EVERY DAY. I'm off to a good start, have only missed one day in January. And I promise I made my bed that night right before I climbed in.

Time to Make a Resolution!
This is my yarn stash. Not including the approximately 5 projects I'm working on, and the 3 skeins sitting on my desk. Or the two bags of sweater's worth in my closet (they wouldn't fit in the bins) The picture doesn't really show the actual yardage I own. I have enough yarn here to happily knit for at least a couple of years. To knit 50 pairs of socks. 20 sweaters. About a million hats.
So I'm making a resolution and publishing it here, you can shame me in public when I fail. I'm knitting from the stash this year! Shopping in my own collection of carefully curated yarns. Not buying new skeins.
Except for the ONE MORE SKEIN of Zauberball I need to finish my High Street Shawl. That one doesn't count.

TQI week 5
Still on it. Katie and Tony had 3-4 pound losses last week. Cara and I were in the more annoying half pound loss area. Slow progress. This week I need to improve on the water intake and up the veg.

TQI Week 4
We are doing great! I don't have a big weight loss to report, but am feeling good with this eating plan. Added dairy in small amounts, otherwise we are sticking with the basic plan. It's a very healthy eating plan and thank god Katie and Tony are good cooks!
Went to the gym for the first time in ages. I'm sure I was the slowest, weakest person there but you have to start somewhere. 20 minutes on the treadmill at very slow speed. Knee was a bit sore but not too bad. I'm determined to get flexibility and strength back to that knee!

Cara's 2013 Project
This gal worked all year on knitting squares for a sampler afghan. My job was to sew them all together, but I kept putting it off (it's the worst job ever). I surprised he with the finished blankie plus matching pillow for Christmas. Looks like it's a success:
