Creature Feature!

The twins each got a can of Play-Dough last week, and they were pretty darn creative:
Alex created a black spider

I think Liam's is a red bug of some sort. (we LOVE bugs!)

I Scream You Scream We All Scream for Ice Cream!

Continuing our current "ice cream theme" the boys and I went to the park last week and they chowed down on McD's $1.00 sundaes (such a deal!) Yum! Alex accessorized his outfit with a cape (that's been the popular look this week for some reason, the twins have been caped up for all kinds of activities), while Mikey played it simple with just the diaper (please agree to be potty trained Michael!!) Liam shares his mouthful of ice cream with the camera. And RJ, as usual, is off like a flash so no pix.

Cut-O-Rama!

Pia gave all four boys haircuts this week (and as usual, they needed them! I've never seen hair grow so fast or so thick as on these heads. Is it bc of little boy hot dirt head sweat--the ultimate hair growth formula??) They all wanted mohawks, ended up more like fauxhawks but they look cute and neat now.

Project Updates

Here's the swatch for my "Secret of the Stole III" KAL (Knit Along). It's in a color called "Peach Ice Cream" which I think is very pretty (in fact, it makes me want an ice cream cone RIGHT NOW), plus seed beads. I haven't knit much with beads, so I'm looking forward to learning a new skill with this project.

I'm also done with sock #1 on my Jule's Sweet Sundae Socks (hmmm seems to be an ice cream theme developing here). Very cute! I'll put a picture when I block the sockie. Now to cast on for the dreaded sock #2.

And I need to finish these socks FAST, cuz the Olympics start in ONE WEEK, and I am entered in the "Ravolympics" where I'm on Team Starmore Junkies and have vowed to knit an entire sweater during the Olympics. I'm going to knit Alice Starmore's Erin cardigan:

my colors are blues/purples/reds. Wish me luck, cuz this is going to be a challenging project!

The Countdown...

I am imagining that somewhere in the sleeping city of Spokane WA, Pia and Katie are waiting in line, along with a giant gaggle of teenage (and teenage +) lovers of that vampire kid...I know neither one of you goons will take your nose out of this book until you have finished it.

And I'm pretty sure Mrs. Turner would NOT have approved of this series for the Bothell library.

the 5th Parlange Boy

Kind of like the 5th Beatle...

The boys called me last night, VERY excited. They had found a little bird in the yard and told me they were now responsible for it and brought it inside.

When I got to work this am, Thomas Bird was snuugled up in a basket with lots of grass and some water and carrots. There were big plans to catch worms for him. Unfortch, he flew the proverbial coop asap and they are birdless. A few tears but we are on the lookout for him...

They're in the mail!

I mailed my "Think Outside the Sox" contest socks today! Wish me luck!
