Where did the summer go? I can't believe it's Labor Day weekend already! And I am no skinnier than when the summer began (not that I tried very hard to lose weight but one can always hope the hot summer sun will melt off a few pounds)
Our last camping trip of the year is upon us. We're heading up to Priest Lake's Lion Head Campground for 3 days of fun, sun, and even a thunderstorm tonight. It's a gorgeous campground, with easy access to a very nice beach and swimming area, plus lots of hiking trails. This place is so nice, there's even a store where you can buy coffee and donuts in the AM, and ice cream cones. My kind of camping! There's also a nightly family program, which is a lot
of fun. We've learned about bears, winter in the park, and lots more.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend before the start of school!

watch out for snakes!! i wish i was there with you.
I am feeling a wave of nostalgia for the start of school - think I will go buy some new socks and underwear . . .
Whatever, my summer is already over. Both schools started Wednesday for me. Old news, my friends, old news.
and a new lunchbox! We missed you Car, it was a fun weekend and the twins learned to ride their bikes w/o training wheels! woot woot!
oh and Susan, don't forget the new saddle shoes and lunch at the Paul Bunyan!
i really miss "tuna on health" - and we MUST make Ryan feel the pain for the GWB comment . . .
You are quite the "outdoorsman" Miss L. And to think, it all started with taking 6 little ragamuffins to the zoo. At least those bears, lions, and snakes were in cages! Oh the nostalgia of the lunch boxes. Of course, Kipper and I just had to "ooh and ahh" over the other kids because our mean mom said "paper bags were just fine!" And if we needed a drink, we were told to "swallow our spit." No Capri Suns or Squeez-it's for these poor folk. I'm still in therapy!
And go easy on Ryno, he has no idea who he's dealing with:).
Zaide will buy the fanciest Disney Princess lunch boxes for H&M I'm sure, and have every juice box possible in the pantry (plus Little Debbie Star Crunches or whatever those heinous bars are). And I'm choosing the high road and will just cut Ry some slack. After all, he's a Repub. and he doesn't know any better. Just don't let him go in any airport men's rooms by himself tho ;-0
Megs-the "swallow your spit" comment was priceless. No fancy lunch boxes for us either, so don't feel bad. However, our mom never made us swallow saliva if we got thirsty!!
I think he should be relegated to only using the restrooms in the Tubby Graves building . . . and Laurie - screw the high road!!!!
lol it's my random act of kindness for the day. Besides, he is obviously not worthy of our wit!
I started thiking about that Lavs - and you are right - it is over his head . . .
and now we must turn him away from the dark side with our wit and wisdom
Cara, we had lunchboxes, and only had to trade our lunches sometimes, so it wasn't too bad. Megs, Zaide was ahead of her time, she was just preparing you for HS when you wouldn't be caught dead with a lunchbox...
But it does feel strange now that I used to like school lunches...I can't stand even thinking about buying one now.
pia - not even on pizza day????
