What Fools We Mortals Be

In honor of The Bard's 455th birthday, it's "Talk Like Shakespeare Day" and I present this clip from my all-time favorite ep of "Gilligan's Island". Yep, the gang performs a musical version of Hamlet! And I still can't hear the opera "Carmen" without singing "Neither A Borrower Nor A Lender Be". Sad but true.

I think the Bard turned over in his grave when that came out... or loved it because it appealed to the plebians. Nice post mom!

loved it, I think I remember that episode. Mr Hebuka gets off the island (what a surprise) and prduced their play which becomes a smash hit. I am with you of "neither a borrower" wow the stuff that stays with you...

that's exactly what happens B (of course that's ALWAYS what happened on GI). And wouldn't it be wonderful if we could remember the cultural things, rather than the plots and songs on crappy tv shows? Wait, I guess we never watched anything vaguely cultural.
