Hen School Comes to Spokane

YIKES! Steve just brought home two baby chickens! Of course, I am terrified, but they SEEM harmless :-) He says he will take them over to his clients who raise chickens when I get too frightened. I realize I could crush the life out of the little things with one step, but phobias aren't rational, right?

And I have to admit, the little balls of fluff are darling. The boys are going to D-I-E.

Now, the little guys (no idea if they are boys are girls, how does one figure that out?) need names. So contest!!! First prize for best names gets a pair of Cadbury Egg Chickens, hand knit by yours truly.

I think you're rubbing off on me. I've really been thinking about getting some chickens. We're allowed three in Seattle. I bet you got females... It would be so nice to have fresh eggs. Nothing beats farm (or MY backyard) fresh eggs. So tasty.

I would love to do a taste test Ms. Lis and see if you could really tell the differance, if you can, I will get you a chicken...or hen I guess? Lavs, what is Steve doing bring home chicks and where the hell did he get them? Outside of Safeway?
More importantly names:
Frida & Olive.
Send me my knit chicks.

Seriously! What is wrong with you. Does this mean that the cat is out because you know he's going to eat those little chicks first chance he gets.

Names: need a little more thought...

OMG Frida and Olive are genius. People, you have your work cut out for you to come up with anything better. And no the F-ing cat is still here (Ben 10 is his name). Skyn thinks he can 'train' the cat not to eat them.

Yet again, Skyn is an idiot! Love you man, but really...Ben 10 is going to eat the chicks. I can't believe you aren't naming them Babs and Mac (or Bunty) in honor of your favorite knitting chickens... that's my vote.

Or maybe Cat and Nip...cause that's what they're going to be.

good ones Rotch! The boys are already calling the Skip and Skipper, but I said they could have cool middle names :-)

with great names already offered I am bowing out of this contest (as mine were going to be peep and poop) I remember when Gayle and I got chicks down at the feed store (of course we had to keep them at Gayle's) they got ugly and dumb fast.

i predict peep and poop last about 5 minutes before you are ready to send them away!!

oh I would have given them the axe already but the twins are totally in love with them. So I think we are Skipper Frida and Skip Olive (or something like that), with Peep and Poop as their last names. So Meggie the Cadbury Egg Chicks are yours. And I'm still scared of the little monsters.
