Adventures in Babysitting

6:00 am came mighty early, but I was up and at 'em for my first day as 'nanny' to my 4 little guys. They were VERY happy to have Gramma Laurie on the job (Mon-Thurs) and were super good, doing all their chores and earning points for hot lunch (why do little kids love buying hot lunch so much? It must be the thrill of standing in line with a tray cuz it sure can't be the food) Alex and Liam both had excellent days at school too, with Allie earning '29 points' for behavior and Liam getting '3 happy faces' for his good behavior in class. RJ was his normal sweet self and Mikey was def. part of the boys' club.

isn't it amazing how excellent the grandchildren are for grammy? The girls are ALWAYS perfect when I have them! The boys look darling in their crdies - how goes the kitchen project? new window in yet??

nothing happening with the kitchen as yet. The basement is looking pretty good tho! downstairs bathroom should be working today.

Of course, with B, we had rules. We could buy five hot lunches a month...and oh how we coveted those days. They'd be on the fridge circled with a M or a K next to it, just so Mom (the terrible lunch maker) wouldn't forget. We always had a squished sandwich on the bottom, some snack in crappy fake zip lock bags (you know, the ones you roll over) and a WAY too ripe banana. So everything always tasted like banana, except for the Starcrunch of course...that just tasted like crap.

lol, it's an amazing thing you two survived your Dickensian childhoods. Did the bread come from the day old bakery too (I do agree about the Little Debbie's tho--ANY little D product must be foul beyond words)

okay - that may be bad - but she never made you olive loaf or thuringer sandwiches like Dad did - NO ONE would trade
